It's time to come out of the closet.

I'm a Muppet-lover and I don't care who knows it. I'm gonna shout it from the mountaintops, consequences be dammed. I've been a Muppet-lover since forever. I just never had the courage to tell anyone.

on Wed, 03/07/2012 - 15:56

In their third annual Blog for International Women’s Day, Gender Across Bordersand CARE ask: how can we, as a culture and as members of the global community, involve, educate, and inspire girls in a positive way?

Education is the key word here, and it starts with children. We need to teach children of both sexes to value the contributions that women make to the world. Everyone and everything is more alive!

Spring evokes a sense of clean up, tune up and shape up. We are outdoors cleaning our yards and pruning our bushes. We are lathering up our cars and washing away any last remnants of salt.

We are inundated with messages in popular media telling us what needs fixing—our wrinkles, our weight, our cooking, decorating, and fashion sense. We are told how to be better friends, spouses, and supportive caregivers to our parents and children.
