Need Income Tax Assistance?

The Women's Centre offers free income tax assistance to women making under $30,000 per year. Monday February 27, March 5 & 19, & April 2 & 16th from 10 – 1 pm. 

Please note this service is first come, first served. No appointments. 

When you come for this service, you need to bring all of your materials and wait to talk with the accountant. As she may have questions, it is not possible for you to drop off your paperwork and return for it later.

Light Up Her Life!

Saturday, February 4th The Halton Women's Centre and The Bronte Legion will host the first annual "Light Up Her Life" with musicians taking to the stage to raise money to provide services and support for abused women.  Join us for a showcase of local talent, a buffet dinner, dance and auction at the Bronte Legion Victory Hall, 79 Jones St. 

 

The doors will open at 4:30pm and dinner will be served at 6pm.  We will be having a silent auction with the opportunity to take home some fabulous prizes.

A Taste of Kripalu Hatha Yoga - Fundraiser for The Women's Centre

Creating Space Yoga Studio will be holding a charitable holiday class on Thursday, December 29th from 5:30-6:45pm

This class will be a gentle Hatha practice inspired by the Kripalu tradition. Physical postures, breathing techniques and ending with a deep relaxation, this class will cultivate the many benefits of yoga; strength, flexibility, calm and overall well-being. The class is suitable for beginning students as well as experienced students who enjoy a gentler practice. Please register in advance. All donations from this holiday class will be collected for the Halton Women's Centre .

Oakville Beaver Features Angel of Hope Campaign Kickoff

Our Angel of Hope campaign kickoff was featured in today's Oakville Beaver. Thanks so much to our special guests, Halton Region Chair Gary Carr and Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn for attending the event and for signing on to be the first "angels" in our Angel of Hope Monthly Giving Campaign. Thanks also to the staff and volunteers who made this event possible, and to the many volunteers and supporters who came out to celebrate the launch of our new campaign.

Angel of Hope Campaign Kick-Off at The Women's Centre: Providing Hope at Hopedall Mall

Monthly giving campaign launched to help agency manage increasing demand for services.

Oakville, ON (CANADA) – December 5, 2011. The Women’s Centre of Halton announces the “Angel of Hope” giving campaign. Through this campaign, donors can become an “Angel of Hope” for the Women’s Centre, with a suggested monthly donation of $10 or a one time annual gift. Halton Regional Chair, Gary Carr and MPP, Kevin Flynn launched the campaign on December 1, becoming the first two donors to the “Angel of Hope”.  Kevin Flynn has put out a challenge to others to join him.
