Mission Statement and Guiding Principles

About Us

The Women’s Centre (formerly known as The Women’s Information Support Centre of Halton) was established in 1989 by a group of women who identified the need for a safe place within the community where women who had experienced abuse could receive
after-care, support and ongoing services. Today, The Women’s Centre offers not only support services for abused women, but also the services to meet the needs of all women.

In 1991 the Women’s Centre became a recognized and registered Charitable Organization (134949395 RR0001) and continues to support thousands of women who access our Centre for help.

The Women’s Centre is a volunteer driven, not for profit, charitable organization that is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of women who are in transition, crisis or distress. The services the centre offers empower and meet the needs of all women regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation.
